This week, DoorDash Reservations is celebrating its Miami launch with what might be the most Miami dining event ever imagined: The Sand CastleDonna, a fully functioning, life-size sandcastle pop-up in partnership with the ever-glamorous Casadonna, winner of New Times‘ Best Romantic Restaurant 2024.
Yes, an actual castle made of sand. On purpose. For dining. It’s so Miami, and we low-key love it.

Built from 100 tons of sculpted sand and designed like a coastal fantasy come to life, the Sand CastleDonna will operate for just four days from Thursday, December 11, through Sunday, December 14, offering one of the most surreal restaurant experiences this city has seen in a long time. And the twist that officially sends this into Miami fever-dream territory? The entire multi-course meal is completely free when booked through the DoorDash app.
Inside the sand fortress, guests can choose between a complimentary three-course lunch or an indulgent four-course dinner of Casadonna’s signature Riviera-inspired dishes, the kind of bright, coastal Italian flavors that usually come with a sweeping waterfront view, not a sculpted turret. Think of it as high-end dining with barefoot beach energy.
Although the pop-up resembles a Mediterranean fairytale, it is actually situated at Jungle Plaza in the Miami Design District, towering like a whimsical monument to the city’s love of spectacle.
Must Be 21 and Over to Experience This Very Miami Event
This sandy experience is available only to guests 21 years of age or older who book through DoorDash Reservations within the DoorDash app. Reservations are still available exclusively in the app (hurry!), and seats are extremely limited. Miss a drop? Keep refreshing. Cancellations happen, even in a sandcastle.
And if you cannot score a seat, Casadonna’s waterfront dining room is open year-round, minus the sand between your toes.
