Hallandale Beach is about to get a dose of London glam when its most anticipated restaurant opening happens this month. Signor Sassi, the Italian favorite that has been a stalwart in London’s upscale Knightsbridge district for more than 40 years, will open its first North American location at 1006 E. Hallandale Beach Blvd. on Saturday, March 14.
Since its 1984 debut in London’s Knightsbridge beside Harrods, the restaurant has been a favorite for celebs like Rihanna, the Rolling Stones, and the Foo Fighters, who have all dined beneath its mirrors. The brand has expanded to Dubai and Doha, but the Hallandale outpost marks its first move into the United States.
The project is led by Daniel Alberto Rodriguez of Victorem Hospitality Group. Rodriguez is working with the UK-based San Carlo Restaurants group to bring the brand to South Florida.

Global Cuisine with Italian Influences
While the kitchen hasn’t confirmed the exact Hallandale Beach menu, the brand is known for a modern Italian cuisine lineup. At the London flagship, the spaghetti lobster is the undisputed favorite. The dish features lobster prepared in a 12-hour slow-cooked tomato paste and house-made lobster bisque that clings to the spaghetti. Another signature is the avocado bernardo, which layers avocado with lobster, scampi, and prawns, topped with “Marie Rose” sauce.
For starters, there are options like the arancini al tartufo nero (rice balls with black truffle and Grana Padano) or the carpaccio di manzo (thinly sliced raw beef with mustard dressing and parmesan). The menu also features dishes like the veal milanese, the gamberetti e calamari fritti (fried shrimp and squid), and the mezze maniche alla carbonara (short pasta with egg, cheese, and guanciale) with seasonal truffle.
The bar focuses on spirits-forward drinks. The “Sassi Fashion” mixes bourbon with hazelnut maple syrup and amaro, while the “Mercante” blends bourbon and rye with Carpano Antica and Campari.

Venetian Style Meets Art Deco
The 200-seat space was designed by London firm Fettle. The interiors draw on the architecture of Venice, including the work of Carlo Scarpa, and are influenced by South Florida’s Art Deco style.
Inside, the room is filled with pink, green, and yellow pastel upholstery and glossy wood panels. A mural by artist Jessalyn Brooks lines the wall, and a large bar sits in the center of the dining room. Outside, a patio has space for another 25 people.
