Late last week, dozens of unsuspecting diners at the Butcher Shop got a little freaked out. While customers chatted at the bar and ate sausages, a bevy of freaks, musicians, roller derby queens, showgirls, and one strange looking gorilla holding a giant eye stormed the Wynwood eatery and beer garden to spontaneously break out into song and dance.

Part beer festival, part carnival sideshow, the beer circus hits the RC Cola Plant Saturday, August 27. From noon to 5 p.m., this adult-themed circus, complete with music, fire eaters, and circus acts, will be combined with plenty of beer from the California-based brewery, along with local craft brewers.
According to Karen Hamilton, director of communications for Lagunitas Brewing Company, this is the eighth-annual Beer Circus but the first time the show is going on the road to five cities: Chicago, New York, California’s Petaluma and Azusa, and Miami.

Tickets for the Lagunitas Beer Circus cost $40, and proceeds benefit Paws 4 You Rescue, a Miami shelter that seeks to “save dogs from euthanasia at Miami-Dade Animal Services, where more than 27,000 unwanted pets end up each year.”
