Ladurée‘s famous macarons have landed in Miami Beach. The luxury French pastry shop has opened its third U.S. location (there are two in New York City), on Lincoln Road.
To celebrate the occasion and pay homage to South Beach’s roots, the brand has designed a limited-edition, art deco-style macaron box. It doesn’t come cheap (a box of eight costs $26), but it’s the sort of decorative memento you keep around long after the treats are gone.

And trust they will be gone, because Ladurée is frequently commended for having the world’s best macarons. I tasted the salty caramel variety ($2.80) and was impressed by the rich, distinguishable flavors and velvety texture.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If Miami New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.
Come early March, the outdoor seating will be in place, and the miniature boutique will feature a champagne bar and serve ice cream and hot drinks. In the meantime, stop by the elegant pastel-hued shop to try one — or ten — of the 16 macaron flavors and be transported to Marie Antoinette’s Paris.
