Independent Journalism in Miami Needs You
We need to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Last night, the Corner brought together some of Miami’s best bartenders, er, mixologists for the first-ever Campari Best Aperitivo Cocktail Competition. Hosted by the United States Bartenders’ Guild, the event had the cocktail creators come up with their own unique take on the classic apéritif. Our cameras were there to take in all the shaking and pouring — and maybe even a little drinking.
Julio Cabrera of Sra. Martinez took top honors with his cocktail “Tramonto,” which features Campari (duh!), Cabo Wabo Reposado Tequila, and assorted mixers. The drink also earned Cabrera a spot at May’s Manhattan Cocktail Classic in New York City.
Coming in second was Bar Lab’s Gabriel Orta, while Adam DelGiudice, formerly of Florida Room, came in third.
