Jack Frost on South Beach melts away

Jack Frost, we hardly knew you. Six weeks after the custard-and-burger joint quietly debuted on Alton Road (next to Master’s Pizza), there are now signs proclaiming the space is for rent, and the phone is disconnected. That was fast — even by South Beach standards. Interestingly, Jack Frost closed the same week Shake Shack opened a few blocks away. However, we doubt there is a connection, because the few times we passed by Jack Frost, it was always empty and forlorn. We’ll just chalk it up to that certain je ne sais quoi of some restaurants making it here and others failing. Or we can simply say it probably sucked.
