New Times: How long have you been a server?
Lucas Cardillo: Back in my country, my family had restaurants, so this has always just been in my blood. It’s my passion.
You used to be an actor?
I used to work for Telemundo in their soap operas. It has made me a better server.
What do people think of your accent?
Argentinean slang is almost like honey on words. It’s sexy.
What is your favorite cocktail?
The Torino at Scarpetta. It’s made with Ketel One Vodka, strawberries, and sparkling lemonade.
What is the sexiest item on the Scarpetta menu?
The duck foie gras ravioli. The shape of the pasta is triangular and it’s made with marsala wine. You can develop the different flavors in your mouth. It’s kind of sexy, like an aphrodisiac.
Do you get hit on?
Often, I’ve got to be honest. They have offered me a lot of money and cars. I’ve gotten hit on by males, females, even celebrities. I’ve been offered $100,000, Lamborghinis and Ferraris.
Do you think that you make people nervous?
Yes, they don’t expect me to be so real. I play with my customers. I make them blush. Everything here is about the experience. I make them feel special, without crossing a line. You always have to be professional.
What makes Scarpetta sexy?
The location. The ambiance makes you feel sexy. We try to make the customers feel sexy while they are eating in a sexy location, we engage them.

Do you party at LIV?
Yes, once or twice a week. I go to complete the experience for guests if they invite me. You can make their whole weekend special.
