Newcomer Jack Frost popped up on Alton Road two weeks ago. This frozen custard shop is perfect for the hot weather we are having. In case you’re wondering, frozen custard is closer to gelato than ice cream, with more cream and richness than the latter. Jack Frost boasts over 50 frozen custards spanning peach melba, banana, cotton candy, key lime, guava, blueberry, guava, taffy apple, coconut cream and pomegranate. Each day eight different flavors are rotated. There are also sundaes, banana splits, shakes and malts.
Additionally, Jack Frost sells hearty savory fare like polish sausage, bratwurst, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, meatball subs, cheese fries, corn dogs, spinach cheese wraps and several salads. Prices are quite affordable from a jerk chicken sandwich for $4.79 to a burger for $3.99. Custards are $3.49 for a regular cup and $4.39 for a large one. Looks like Miami Beach just got a reasonable neighborhood joint.
