Last year, Freshii made history as the first chain restaurant to open in Wynwood. Now, they’re adding another South Florida location — they’ll be feeding shoppers at Miami International Mall.
Slated to open April 20, the fast-casual Canadian chain’s new locale, like its others, will sell reasonably priced, superfood-strong smoothies, wraps, salads, burritos, juices and more.
“Miami International Mall is located in the city of Doral, which is one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation,” says the new location’s owner, Vanessa Riera. “Residents in Doral are loyal to their city and support the local businesses. They are very aware of health and looks. We know for sure that Freshii will be loved by our neighbors.”
This location is designed to offer healthy, energizing meals choices to mall shoppers — options they didn’t have before. Plus, with close proximity to the airport, they expect travelers to pop in for pre-flight snacks or meals.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $17,250 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
The menu has a lot of curated items in addition to build-your-own options. Customers can choose from dozens of ingredients like brown rice noodles, quinoa, chickpeas, spinach, beet slaw, artichoke hearts and many others. Alongside its regular menu, the chain launched a new Juice Cleanse program in January. Customers can do one, three or five-day programs that include four fresh pressed juices and one detoxifying salad/day.
The mall location should open the chain up to a whole new audience.
Last year, Freshii founder and CEO Matthew Corrin told the New Times that they’d also be opening soon in Dadeland Mall, Fort Lauderdale, Boca, and Jupiter.
Looks like Freshii is on its way to world domination. Currently, there are 150 in in Toronto, Vancouver, Chicago, Los Angeles, Huston, Dubai, Vienna, Saudi Arabia, Guatemala and more than 60 cities and 12 countries. Proof of their popularity, they’re opening an average of two weekly.
