Sakaya Kitchen turns 1 this Friday. At this time last year, Richard Hales and his wife, Jenny, opened their doors to a foodie community starved for something new and different. Nervous and angst-plagued all day long, they finally opened the doors at 6:30 the night of December 17 and said, “F*ck it.”
The rest is history…
In memory of check numero 1, Sakaya Kitchen and crew will be dishing out free Korean Fried Chicken Wings all day long. If you’re in the hood between 7 and 10 p.m., stop by for more festivities and order some pork buns, get down with some sake and jam to the Jay Blues Band live.
Congrats to Richard and Jenny! We certainly look forward to Sakaya Kitchen’s long-lived, pork-filled existence.
