If you grew up in South Florida, chances are you’ve spent at least one birthday, post-beach hang, or questionable first date inside a Flanigan’s Seafood Bar & Grill. The neon forest green lights, the sticky wooden tables, the smell of ribs and fried shrimp in the air — it’s basically a Floridian’s version of church. (Actually, we’re not even joking — a couple celebrated their wedding reception at a Flanigan’s in Hialeah this year.) And now, for the first time ever, you can take a little piece of that holy experience home with you: Joe’s Pale Ale, the famous house beer of Flanigan’s, is officially coming to Big Daddy’s Wine & Liquors stores statewide.
Yes, you read that right. “Joe’s Pale Ale,” crafted by 26 Degree Brewing Company in Pompano Beach and inspired by the legend himself, Joe “Big Daddy” Flanigan, is no longer just a dine-in fantasy. It’s hitting shelves, coolers, and (most likely) every backyard cooler in Florida just in time for Miami’s first “cold front” that will bring our annual 75-degree weather fall.
Both Flanigan’s and 26 Brewing dropped the news on Instagram on Wednesday, October 29, and the comments section instantly turned into a digital block party. One fan wrote, “Flanny’s themed parties are going to be crazy,” while another declared, “Now I can drink like I’m at Flanigan’s, even when I’m not at Flanigan’s…This calls for Flanigan’s.” (And honestly? Same.) Someone else chimed in with, “This is the best news of the year!” followed by “This is big moves for Big Daddy,” and yes, yes it is.
Let’s be real: there are few things more Floridian than walking into Flanigan’s after a long day on the water, ordering dolphin fingers (it’s mahi, calm down, cherished New Times reader who emailed me very distraught one day), and washing it all down with a frosty Joe’s Pale Ale. It’s practically a rite of passage. When the rest of the country brags about their craft breweries and pumpkin spice beer, we’ve got Big Daddy’s signature brew — and now it’s finally coming home to our fridges.

Who’s Brewing The Daddylicious Pale Ale?
For those unfamiliar (which means you’ve clearly never lived south of Palm Beach County), 26 Degree Brewing Company is a beloved Pompano Beach brewery known for its crisp, beach-friendly craft beers. Teaming up with Flanigan’s feels like the most natural Florida collab ever — like “Joe’s Rockin’ Rib Rolls” and football on a Sunday.
There’s no official word yet on exactly when the cans will hit Big Daddy’s shelves, but let’s be honest: Miamians are already planning “Flanny’s at Home” nights with Flanny’s green plastic cups, white styrofoam to-go boxes, and dolphin fingers in the air fryer.
So, next time the weather drops below 75 and you’re tempted to throw on a hoodie, crack open a “Joe’s Pale Ale” instead. Because no matter where you are in Florida, every sip will soon taste a little like home.
