Meet the new Burger King Whopper Bar, same as the old Burger King — at least concerning the crummy food. The digs are a bit more attractive, and the selling of beer an effective means of introducing children to the joys of alcohol. I mean, BK is a family restaurant, right? But the Pepper Bacon and Cheddar Whopper XT, at a whopping $8.50 (with drink and onion rings), was just like a Whopper except fatter — as you can see from the photo, not much in the way of bacon or cheddar (both were hiding under the pale tomatoes). The less said about the onion rings the better. And the garnishing bar is just a means of letting customers see what a shoddy product BK puts out; most of the garnishes, like those onion rings, don’t even look like real food. I ate half the burger and my stomach grumbled for hours. How do people consume this stuff?
