Move over, Eismann — two Greek gods are taking over your former Q space and making it a masticha mecca. Sometime next month, Egg & Dart, named for the iconic decorative molding sometimes found in Greek architecture, will throw open its doors and start serving everything from hummus to shrimp saganaki.
Egg & Dart’s co-owners are Costa Grillas and Niko Theodorou, both of whom were spawned from families in the biz. Grillas’ family owns Maria’s Greek Restaurant in Coral Gables, while Theodorou’s mom, Vagia, operates a catering company in Athens and a restaurant on Tzia. She can be found in the Design District nowadays, however, consulting on the menu and the restaurant in general.
Don’t expect the 202-seater to look anything like Mykonos or Mandolin. Plans are to feature polished concrete floors, white lacquer tabletops, a wood and glass chandelier, and an Indonesian teak communal table. And then there will be those handsome owners, providing eye candy while the ouzo sinks in.
Egg & Dart will be located at 4029 N. Miami Ave. in the Design District.
