We don’t often eat frog wontons, but when we do we prefer if they don’t look like an actual frog. As we previously mentioned, this weekend Dos Equis brought their market-inspired soiree, Bazaar Noir, to Grand Central. Guests were given passports, to be stamped through visits to several worldly stations in order to gain access to a special hidden mirrored room.
We were most excited to try the edibles and drinkables of the event. Just like last year when Dos Equis teamed up with Los Chamos to bring the most interesting food truck in the world to Miami, they once again joined forces for culinary exploration. The cow’s tongue arepitas and alligator tail empanadas of food truck’s past were replaced with frog wontons and shark tamales (blame Sharknado).
Other treats offered included cerveza and cricket lollipops and ostrich stuffed with plantain balls. We have been on a bit of an exotic meat kick, but this event also brought some exotic alive animals to be admired.
The event aimed to have Miamians “Stay thirsty through interesting, engaging and adventurous experiences.” We will happily cheers free beers to that!
