You usually don’t think of Doral for Florida Keys seafood. No docks. No conch shacks. No sunset beers by the water. And yet, FreshCo Fish Market & Grill is now open in Downtown Doral, serving hogfish, conch fritters, and Key lime-forward seafood in the middle of a mixed-use neighborhood.
The restaurant opened in late December 2025, marking the second location for FreshCo Fish Market & Grill and a return to Doral for founder Mario Palazon. Years before FreshCo became a Kendall staple, Palazon was developing recipes in the area, including the conch fritters that later became a staple on the menu.

From Kendall to Downtown Doral
FreshCo’s original Market & Grill built its following in Kendall on a mix of casual counter service and a buy-by-the-pound market, a model that carries over to Downtown Doral on a much larger scale.
Roughly twice the size of the original, the new location of FreshCo boasts a full dining room, patio seating, and a seafood counter, allowing guests to either order custom-prepared dishes or take fresh catch home. According to the Miami Herald, the expansion had been in motion for several years, sparked by the developer’s interest after seeing the concept’s success in Kendall.

A Menu With Choice
FreshCo’s menu is quite extensive, but the structure is straightforward: choose your protein. Pick how it’s cooked. Pick your sides. You get the drill.
Starters include the star-of-the-menu conch fritters, blue crab cakes, cracklin’ calamari, tuna tataki, fish dip and grilled octopus. A ceviche bar allows guests to choose their fish and preparation, including Key Lime, Royal Red or FreshCo’s Way, served with corn, sweet potato and tostones.
The main menu covers bowls, tacos, sandwiches, and traditional plates. Most seafood options are available grilled, blackened, fried or jerked. Proteins range from snapper, grouper, hogfish, mahi mahi, and corvina to tuna, shrimp, lobster, and octopus.
Sandwiches stick to classics like po’ boys, Reubens, lobster and crab cake sandwiches, and a half-pound burger. Larger plates include whole fried snapper or hogfish, mixed seafood platters, crab cakes, shrimp, and Florida lobster. Naturally, a Key lime pie can be found on the dessert menu, alongside guava bread pudding, guava cheesecake, and café con leche tres leches.

A Great Market Selection
Like the Kendall location, FreshCo operates as both a restaurant and a fish market. The retail case stocks a variety of fish, including snapper, salmon, grouper, mahi mahi, corvina, octopus, and stone crab. They even added some offerings that were added specifically for Doral to reflect the area’s tastes, such as fish more common in Latin American and Mediterranean cooking, according to the Miami Herald.
FreshCo joins a growing lineup of restaurants in Downtown Doral, alongside Negroni Sushi Bar & Bistro, Bombay Darbar, and Bulla Gastrobar.
