Deli Battle at Four Local Sedano’s Locations

It happens to us all the time: you’re at the supermarket deli counter, waiting in what seems to be an endless line of people getting out of work, you look at the number on your little green ticket stub and it says 62. But the number in brightly lit red lettering behind the counter says 40.

Ugh. “I just want my damn deli meat!” you say to yourself.

We’ve all been there. Lucky for us though, this weekend we could make up for the countless hours we’ve spent waiting at deli counter lines – with free deli meats all in favor of choosing the best brand between Dietz & Watson or Boar’s Head.

Use that little trick that grandma showed you – line your pockets with Ziploc baggies and you’ll have plenty deli meat for a week.

Beginning tomorrow, March 29 through April 1, you can take advantage of Grandma’s secret trick at four different Sedano’s Markets around town. Philadelphia’s Dietz & Watson is out to let consumers prove that they make the world’s best tasting deli meats with a blind taste test.

Sedano’s shoppers will choose between turkey breast, chicken breast, and roast beef varieties. The goal behind the challenge is to prove that Watson’s artificial flavors, colors, fillers, extenders and MSG free product reign over Boar’s Head.

According to a Dietz & Watson media release, Watson boasts itself for using “quality above all else” and “demanding nothing less than the freshest lean, grain-fed Midwest beef, Canadian pork, turkey breast and chicken breast enhanced with fresh all-natural spices and seasonings.”

Competing with the Philadelphia giant, Boar’s Head prides itself for “starting with only the finest ingredients available” and using no “fillers, gluten, artificial colors, flavors, or trans fat,” according to their website.

In any case, you can take part in the delicatessen throw down from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. at the Sedano’s locations below.
