There’s another little chef-to-be in Miami.

Daniel Serfer and his wife Shoshana welcomed a baby boy late last week.

Henry Max Serfer was born January 29 at 2:59 p.m. The boy, weighing 7 pounds 8 ounces and measuring 21 inches long, already has a food-related nickname — “Steak.” Probably because the little bundle is absolutely delicious!

Serfer, executive chef/owner of Blue Collar, is elated, telling Short Order: “Shoshana and I could not be more happy, and we are grateful for everyone’s well-wishing and support.”

To celebrate the joyous arrival, Serfer is offering free homemade apple sauce to all children who dine at Blue Collar. Guess the chef is practicing for when Steak starts eating grown-up food.

The birth of his son wasn’t the only good news for the talented chef. Serfer also picked up two awards at the annual Burgie Awards, held in Fort Lauderdale this past Saturday night. Serfer won big at the Burger Beast-sponsored evening, placing first in the Best Restaurant and Best French Fries categories.

A big mazel tov to the happy family.
