Chow Down Grill announces yet another reason to be there almost every night of the week (not that we’re complaining).

In addition to Sweet & Low Tuesdays, Munch Wednesdays, TakeOut Thursdays, and once a month Dig Sum Dim Sum Burlesque Sundays, the 9th and Alton location welcomes Chow Down Fridays.

Beginning December 2, DJ Self Born will be spinning from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. His tracks include everything from R&B to hip-hop to his self acclaimed spin specialty, old school jams — something for everyone.

What’s more, Chef and partner, Joshua Marcus will be gracing each Friday’s hip night with a different, off menu specialty. Not a single specialty will be repeated, so it’s in your best interest to attend them all.

Support local news on #GivingNewsDay

Today is #GivingTuesday. We in the news business like to think of it as #GivingNewsDay. We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to this community. If you value our work, we hope you’ll consider making a contribution to our newsroom today.

$30,000

For this maiden Chow Down Friday, chef will be preparing a Self Born Pu Pu Platter ($18 per person) which includes lamb short ribs, peanut wings, beef satay, bao, and dumplings (drooling yet?).

Eventually looking to expand the once a week event into an underground supper club, Chef Josh forsees guests chefs, five course meals, a set price and a good time among the long term goals for future Fridays.

Says Chef Josh, “come here, get a party and good food” — short, sweet and to the point, chef! With quality, affordable Chinese fusion fare and Chicago born DJ Self Born, it seems the Chef’s request won’t be too hard for locals to carry out.
