Jaya, a modern Asian-inspired resto helmed by executive chef Mathias Gervais, will open in the Setai in late November. Gervais won the September 17 episode of Food Network’s Chopped.
Jaya will replace the hotel’s signature eatery, the Restaurant. Hotel reps say renovations, such as an open kitchen design, will be made to the layout to create a new feel.

Nakash Holdings, controlled by Jordache Enterprises, and the Von Furstenberg family became the hotel’s new owners in early March. Gervais and Veena, along with general manager Alex Furrer and food and beverage director Christian Maeder, pitched the concept of Jaya to the new ownership soon after.
Over the past six months, Gervais and Veena have perfected the menu, which features their own personal touches. Between Gervais’ strong interest in Asian cuisine and Veena’s upbringing in India, Jaya will surely offer flavorful plates.
An exact opening date has not yet been announced.
