Tasting Panel Magazine and Harlem Kruiden Liqueur gathered a dozen mixologists at Philippe Chow last week, and challenged them to create a “mini” 2oz. cocktail using the herby Harlem Liqueur from Holland with any ingredients of their choosing. Harlem, incidentally, is the “ice cold shot drink” from the makers of Ketel One. It is most often compared to Jagermeister.

Richie Petronzi from Burger and Beer Joint took first place among judges for his Harlem Nights cocktail with apple, maple, and tarragon. Nick Nistico from JB’s on the Beach (that would be Deerfield Beach) took home the Fan Favorite prize for his Harlem Night Nurse. Recipe for the fan fav follows the flip — we’re not including the Burger and Beer recipe because it calls for “apple smoked bacon fat washed Harlem”, and we have no idea what that means.
