We know you’re all torn up about the news we broke last week regarding Blue Door Fish’s final bow, so might we suggest you celebrate it with a few glasses of wine and five hearty courses instead of simply drowning your sorrows in a vat of Schweddy Balls?
Hosted by Tommy Oldre of Tablas Creek Vineyard,
the winemaker dinner — probably the restaurant’s last — will be held next
Wednesday, October 19. The meal costs $95 per person, but you’ll get to
try Chef Sean Bernal’s creations along with multiple glasses of the
California wines, including the Patelin de Tablas Blanc 2010 released
this past spring. (Bernal is pairing that selection with Kusshi oysters
wrapped in cucumber and topped with wasabi caviar, crispy nori, and
white soy ponzu, FYI.) Also on the menu are tempura Florida lobster,
scallops and foie with charred pineapple, swordfish au poive, oxtail
ravioli, and a surprise dessert. Hmm.
No one should be singing the blues after that meal. For reservations, call 305-674-6400.
