Boiled… fried… and now stone-ground and baked.  Miami-based natural foods company Explorer’s Bounty is venturing into the unleavened market, launching Tribal Stone Crackers.  This 100 percent certified organic snack is the first of its kind in the world to be made from Rainforest Alliance Certified Yuca.  Which basically means that not only is it good for you, it’s good for the planet.  Even Moses would be jealous of these wafers of cassava, which contain no added sweeteners, are gluten, allergen and fat free, and are vegan-friendly.  Best part is, there’s no need to cross the desert or hack through the Amazon to find them.  Company mascots Nigel and Mortimer (the man and his best friend pictured on the ship’s deck) will do it for you.  Rolling out this month in original, cinnamon, garlic and onion varieties on the shelves of Fresh Market, Publix and Winn Dixie for about $3.99 each.
