16. Key Lime Pie at Icebox Cafe
Where can you find the best key lime pie? The obvious answer is the Florida Keys, but that’s not always true. We’ve had our fair share of overly sweet, not tart enough pies in the Conch Republic. Closer to home there is Icebox Cafe, which is already known for its amazing desserts as well as its savory entrees. However, it’s their version of the key lime pie that nears perfection. Just the right balance of sugary sweetness and tart from the limes. We personally like our pie served with no fussy meringue — let the pie speak for itself — so all that you’ll get here is a bit of whipped cream, which is delicate enough not to be the star of the show and a graham cracker crust that is buttery and never dried out. A slice will set you back $6, but cost is irrelevant when you are this close to heaven.
