Michelle F. Solomon

Michelle F. Solomon started her career at age 5 as a singer, performing in Atlantic City with the Stars of Tomorrow. She first contributed to New Times in 2009 as a music writer and has held executive newsroom positions at TV stations with a focus on digital media in Detroit and Miami. A graduate of Emerson College in Boston, she holds a master's degree from the State University of New York with a focus on writing and has covered lifestyle and culture for the Detroit Free Press, the Albany (NY) Times Union, and her hometown newspaper the Wilkes-Barre (PA) Times Leader. In 2023, she won an arts beat reporting award from the Florida chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
