Hard Rock Live has announced Steve Martin and Martin Short have rescheduled their joint show at the venue for Saturday, October 4. The original January 11 date was postponed three days before showtime because of the escalating California wildfires.
The venue announced all original tickets will be honored at the new date, adding, "Guests who can no longer attend can get refunds at point of purchase within 60 days, by Friday, March 28."
Only one of the three fires that were burning at the time of the show's postponement — the Hurst fire — has been fully contained. The Palisades and Eaton fires are still burning but are 94 and 98 percent contained respectively, according to the Los Angeles Times. Twenty-eight people are confirmed dead and tens of thousands of acres have burned.
Short and Martin's South Florida show was one of the first cancellations to arise from the wildfires. Since then, the fires have had far-reaching effects on the entertainment world. The Palisades and Malibu are home to many celebrities whose homes have burned down, with Billy Crystal, Paris Hilton, and Mandy Moore among the affected.
The Grammys, happening in Los Angeles this weekend, canceled nearly all events leading up to the Sunday ceremony. The Oscars, slated for Sunday, March 2, are still expected to go on as scheduled. Both ceremonies will spotlight recovery efforts in the city.
Neither Short nor Martin have provided details on how they've personally been affected by the disaster. However, in an Instagram post announcing the postponement of the original date, Martin wrote, "Everyone is alive, but there is devastation."
