This Sounds Like Fun

We aren't ones to brag about hanging out with quasi-famous people, but on Halloween 2006, the Sounds played a secret show at the now-defunct Studio A. Afterward, they spun at the Redroom at Skybar located inside the Shore Club. There couldn't have been more than 50 people there, and we happened to go 'cause we knew the right people. It was a bit odd, perhaps, because the group wanted to party and mingle as much as they wanted to spin. After that, we all headed to Rokbar next door, and, well, our memories get fuzzy after that. If you aren't already aware, the band returns to South Florida Wednesday with a show at Revolution in Fort Lauderdale. It seems, though, they will extend their stay, because the following night, they are set to take over Rokbar (1905 Collins Ave., Miami Beach) for a special DJ set. Also on the bill is Discotech, which includes Miami New Times' pick for "Best Club DJ" Danny Daze, who will celebrate his birthday that night as well. As always, there is never a cover at Rokbar, but the door can be pretty tough if you're a guy or don't know the right people. But then again, we've never had a bad night at Rokbar, so it might be worth the trouble.
