Shelly Novak is South Beach’s drag queen of them all, and there’s no one better to host Burger & Beer Joint’s latest and greatest addition: Shelly Novak’s Karaoke Spectacular. With DJ Miik Martorell on the turntables, and the feistiest mistress at the helm, this karaoke night promises to be unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. “Karaoke is the best because you have an open microphone,” Novak says. “You can sing, you can tell jokes, spoken word — I don’t care. Bring it on.” With a full bar and an award-winning menu, B&B has plenty to lure even the shyest of singers. Each week will feature a new cast of colorful hosts, from Juleisy y Karla to Elaine Lancaster and all of Novak’s wild and wonderful friends.
