News alert! Arty, creative things are happening outside of the Wynwood Arts District.
Tomorrow, a new art walk officially kicks off in Miami’s original arts neighborhood, Coconut Grove. Held the first Saturday of every month, the Grove Art Walk will unveil new galleries and debut new artists from 7 to 10 p.m.
But the highlight of tomorrow’s walk is the live photo shoot at one of the area’s newest galleries. The Nomade Gallery was opened by French art lover Brigitte Serfaty this past February, and she’s already bringing some welcomed European libido to the Grove.
Hunt down Nomade (3133 Commodore Plaza, Coconut Grove ) to see photographer Wick Beavers pose nude models as he strives to reinterpret Rodin’s The Thinker. Directly after the shoot, the life-sized photographs will be printed on-site so you can go home with a signed print and boast “I was there. They were naked.” See one of Beavers’s photos, Family Get Together, Thanksgiving, after the jump. (NSFW)
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $18,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
