Last month, the Adrienne Arsht Center announced a screening of La La Land (2016) paired with live accompaniment by a full orchestra and jazz band. Dubbed La La Land in Concert, the show quickly sold out two shows at New York City's Carnegie Hall. Now, less than one month after the announcement of the Wednesday, April 9 screening at the Arsht, the venue has added a second show set for Thursday, April 10.

Tickets for the original Wednesday-night show are going fast — at press time, less than 150 tickets remained for the first show at the 2,400-seat theater. The ticket link for the Thursday show show is not yet live, but a statement from the venue says tickets will be priced at $69, $89, and $129.

La La Land in Concert has toured around the world since November 2023, playing in cities from Seoul and Taipei to London and Paris. Fittingly, the show first premiered in Los Angeles in September 2023. The city is not only the movie's namesake but a major character in itself and the setting for the film about an aspiring actress and jazz musician played by Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, respectively.

In 2025, La La Land in Concert will play in theaters in Mexico, Japan, Singapore, and France. Miami is one of three U.S. cities announced so far, alongside New York and Seattle.

La La Land became a cultural sensation upon release in 2016, grossing $472 million worldwide on a budget of $30 million. The film was nominated for a record-tying 14 Academy Award categories. It went on to win in six of those categories, including Best Actress for Stone and Best Director for Chazelle, who became the youngest-ever winner in the category. The film also created an unintentional pop culture moment when it was erroneously announced as the winner of Best Picture instead of Miami's own Moonlight.

In 2023, Broadway World announced a stage adaptation of La La Land is also in the works.

La La Land in Concert. 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, and Thursday, April 10, at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, 1300 Biscayne Blvd., Miami; 305-949-6722; arshtcenter.org. Tickets cost $69 to $129.
