Visual and music artist Woff Senatus was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and came to the United States at the age of 2. His American name is Wolfgang Mosaic, which he describes thusly: "I was born Wolf, gang is everybody with me, and mosaic is me piecing together the art." Check out his work in a group show called "See the Sound" alongside other live muralists of the MLK Project at Friday's edition of Big Night in Little Haiti, a monthly celebration of music, food, art, and dance. The evening Kreyol festival features the Miami fusion sounds of Elastic Bond, a headline set by sax virtuoso Jowee Omicil, DJ Moses on the ones and twos, the open sculpture studios of Serge Jolimeau and Lionel St. Eloi, a free guided community tour by local urban historians, and an official afterparty featuring the Ancient Order of Nyabingi drumming the night away across the street at Moksha Gallery and Boutique (228 NE 59th St.). As Mosaic says, "Big Night in Little Haiti is a beautiful event with a nice energy that always gives you something good to talk about the next day. It will surely be a blessed event."
