Christmas in Space

On Christmas Day, the gentiles wake up to tear open presents. But the city’s Jewish populace, and Latino contingent hungover from the previous night’s Noche Buena festivities, hit the local movie theaters to catch whatever tolerable blockbuster gets released on Jesus’s birthday. That’s all good and well if you’re riding with family, but for the twenty-somethings and party-til-you-puke set, there is Club Space. Why waste your time watching Julia Roberts try to act her way out of another bad romantic comedy when you can dance on the terrace in perfect Miami winter weather? The nightclub’s Space Christmas party promises to tear DJs such as Louis Puig, Lazardi, Patrick M, and Carlo Lio away from their families during the holiday. And while your after-hours behavior at Space may qualify you for a lump of coal next Christmas, you have 364 days to redeem yourself by playing nice. Tickets cost $20 before midnight and $30 before 2 a.m. Santa’s techno treat starts at 11 p.m. on Saturday. Call 305-375-0001 or visit clubspace.com.
