The best thing about vaudeville is you never know what to expect. But if it’s December and Shameless Burlesque’s Holly Peño is involved, we’re guessing there will be an outfit of nothing but red pumps, fishnets, and a fringed lampshade. Her signature routine as the leg lamp from A Christmas Story is in high-demand this time of year. At this Thursday’s Vaudeville Christmas at Churchill’s, she’ll be joined by fellow burlesque dancer Billie Bee Good for some shimmying to “Santa Baby.” Ian Edwards will do stand-up, and there will be sideshow acts that involve juggling (we hope with ornaments) and a bed of nails (there better be visions of sugar plums dancing overhead). On the music front, Baby Hairs will belt out non-Christmas classics such as “Titties Free” and “Everyone Is Gay.” And Monty & Forrest will beat-box and free-style. Start your Christmas celebration at this kookie, holiday (-ish) variety show.
