Running until August 31 at the World Erotic Art Museum, Rosemarie Romero’s “Sexual War Politics” pulls the hippie trick, protesting the American wars in the Middle East by any means necessary, AKA political porno photomontage. Basically, Romero clips golden-era ’60s pinups from sources such as Playboy or vapid fashion shots from Vogue and then layers and loads these eroticized tableaux with bomb bursts, bloated corpses, and battle scenes. The result: intriguing visual studies that the Pentagon will never see.
