If you’re under the age of 13, you’re all like, “OMG! Hannah Montana’s coming to town!” If you’re over 21 and don’t tend to hang around tweens and their ilk, you’re like, “Who in hell is Hannah Montana, and when did people start practically murdering one another for her concert tickets?” Good question. Hannah Montana began as one of those goofy, hypercolorful Disney Channel sitcoms for girls who have just outgrown cartoons and stuffed animals. Played by Miley Cyrus (yup, Billy Ray’s daughter), Hannah is adorable student by day and superstar singer by night, and transforms simply by donning a shiny blond wig.

So what’s turned this TV show into an insane pop culture juggernaut? We blame it on an inspired combination of music and marketing to intoxicate the kids, plus parents who will do anything to please their spoiled little princesses. Presto, tickets for the latest concert are being scalped for thousands of dollars! Disney’s biggest moneymaker is coming to the American Airlines Arena for the Best of Both Worlds tour – not to be confused with the ill-fated Jay-Z/R. Kelly tour of the same name. Tickets were going for an affordable $23.25 to $63.25. We sincerely hope you don’t wind up signing over your car to some scalper on Biscayne Boulevard to get them.
