The Japanese trend of cosplay (a combination of the words costume and play) has brought the world fun and fashion — witness the likes of Gwen Stefani and Harajuku girls. Here on South Beach, there’s a delicious weekly culinary event. Join the Cosplay Tuesday party at Sushi Samba Dromo and immerse yourself in some stylish Japanese self-expression.

You, too, can mimic the subculture of trendsetters by dressing up as famous characters from anime, videogames, and movies. Beginning at 11:00 p.m., music will spin while taiko drummers and geisha girls provide entertainment. Feeling frisky? Order a bottle of shochu (a barley-based spirit) for your table. Don’t leave without requesting one of new pastry chef Sergio Navarro’s inventive desserts, like três leite with guava espuma and cachaça-flamed mango. Or try a pineapple tiradito made with coconut gelatin and coconut crisp. The former pastry chef at Miami’s La Broche, Navarro unleashes new flavors for the revamped and delectable dessert menu.
