Three teams (Cleveland, Denver, and Miami) sat pretty in the 2003 draft when LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, and Dwyane Wade were entering the NBA. The hype had it that Wade was a clear third choice, but Miamians quickly learned he was actually the most valuable of the triumvirate. Sure bet: D. Wade will wear a ring before LeBron. Nonetheless Cleveland’s choice is a supreme b ball player; his 8:00 p.m. appearance at the American Airlines Arena (601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami) provides a midseason highlight. Of course we expect D. Wade to shut down his peer, “shut down” in this case meaning to keep him under twenty points and without a double double. Oh boy, these kids today. Miami Heat tickets range from $10 to $300.
