Independent Journalism in Miami Needs You
We need to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
It’s the fourth anniversary of Fashion’s Night Out, the yearly celebration of all things faaaahbulous around the globe, and this year, Miami has upped its game. The Design District last month released a promotional video featuring a model in eveningwear crossing a street under the gaze of studly construction workers, and doing a little demolition of her own with a shovel. (All shot in black-and-white and slow motion for ultimate artsy effect, daaahling.)
From that preview sprung events spanning all of South Florida, from Kendall to Aventura and beyond. The DVF store at the Village of Merrick Park (350 San Lorenzo Ave., Coral Gables) celebrates with music, cocktails, and desserts. South Beach boutiques will offer giveaways, such as the limited-edition iPad cases available at Steve Madden (817 Lincoln Rd. and 635 Collins Ave., Miami Beach) and free totes at Kenneth Cole (190 Eighth St., Miami Beach). And the Design District will once again be a hub of the yearly festivities, hosting Emporio dei Giovani’s fall collection at LMNT, the pop-up boutique the District Factory, and more.
