Giardino Gourmet Salads was conceptualized by husband and wife team Kenny and Ody Lugo, formally a firefighter and Miami-Dade school teacher. Starting today, South Beach sandwich shop — which also features salads and soups — is holding its first Wrappy Hour. This is a catchy way of saying Buy one wrap, get the second for free. Wraps start at $6.50, and the deal runs every Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the South Beach location only (there are five other Giardinos scattered about Miami-Dade). We’re not certain what constitutes the “limited time” during which the offer will run, and we surely have no idea what is meant by “Rice paper and scoops not included in promotion.” Still, a deal is a deal, and the wraps here are fresh and tasty.
