So Jackie Mason’s in town for a string of performances at Ft. Lauderdale Improv. Humor aside, it’ll be an interesting study of demographics. On one hand, you’ve got a Jewish comedy legend bringing his old-school brand of humor to Broward County, home to many a transplanted New Yorker. But on the other hand, is Mason’s outstretched middle finger aimed at President Obama — something that will attract an entirely different crowd, one more enthralled with Glenn Beck than Jon Stewart. Sociologically fascinating? Perhaps. Bust-a-gut funny? We hope. For a sneak peak of this rabbi-turned-comic-turned-politco, check out Mason’s YouTube channel, The Ultimate Jew. And remember: Sarah Silverman, bad; Sarah Palin, good.
Thursdays. Starts: Feb. 17. Continues through March 2, 2011
