There’s not a Sunday night that goes by that as we watch VH1’s show Basketball Wives we don’t wonder: Why is it called that? None, literally not one of the women on the show is actually a basketball wife. So we wondered, what is it like to be the mate of someone in the NBA? We found out from someone who knows.
Chris Riley, wife of Miami Heat President Pat, is a basketball wife
all-star. With over four decades in the game, she is married to a
retired Los Angeles Laker/one of the best coaches of all time. And while
the ladies on Wives talk about their lavish lifestyles, she has
one. She doesn’t let her husbands multi-millions get to her head.
She does a lot of work in the Miami-Dade community too. So, when we
attended her $20,000 per couple event, along side everyone from Lebron
