Anyone who thinks the onset of Kindle and other digital readers means the total annihilation of the book hasn’t picked up a copy of Tigertail: A South Florida Poetry Annual. Released once a year by executive director Mary Luft and her board of culture mavens, the poetry annual always features high-quality local art, premium paper, smart design, and, of course, great writing.
This year’s edition is no different. Miami artist Susan Lee-Chun created the cover, and the three-part volume was edited by poets Campbell McGrath, Denise Duhamel, and Michael Hettich, who present poems by protégés Jill M. Allen, Hugo Rodriguez, and Yayha Frederickson, respectively. This Thursday at 7:30 p.m., all three will read from their work as part of the Tigertail Book Launch at Books & Books. The reading is free.
