The Standard Celebrates Quiksilver Collaboration, Swimwear Vending Machine Sunday

Have you ever been caught at a pool party or the beach without any swimwear? Skinny dipping not an option? The Standard Hotel has a solution for you, a swimwear vending machine stocked with limited edition Standard boardshorts by Quiksilver ($75), with designs inspired by the hotel’s four locations: Miami, New York, Hollywood, and downtown Los Angeles.

For the ladies, there is a reversible bikini ($88) that can be worn in three unique ways.

Also in the vending machine are poolside necessities like sunscreen and sunglasses — seriously, is there anything this machine doesn’t have? Er, well we asked if, like the Mondrian’s luxe vending machine, there was a $90,000 Bentley for purchase — there isn’t.

Still, it’s Swim Week, so the Standard is obviously going to make the new vending machine a reason to celebrate. This Sunday, all hail the vending machine, as the hotel’s Lazy Sunday pool party will feature Brazilian barbecue, live music, pool games, photobooth, and more from 4 to 8 p.m.

Also highly recommended is that you throw on a sarong and stay afterward for the Sunday bingo shenanigans known locally as Love Life in the hotel’s lobby starting at 8 p.m., which is always free and open to the public.
