Your five-pound cat Muffy takes up as much space in bed as Fatty Arbuckle. This is a mystery best left unexplored. After a full night of contorting yourself around the happily sleeping feline, your spine cracks with a chakra-chakra sound. Perhaps your body is trying to tell you it’s time to head to Zen Village (3570 Main Hwy., Coconut Grove). This holistic “educare center” offers lectures and workshops designed to spread healing, meditiative yoga vibes throughout the community. Every Tuesday, you can get your spiritual and physical needs assessed by a master, meditate your way to a more peaceful life, and learn techniques (none of which include maiming a tabby) to relieve stress. Indulge in a Tibtao Relaxation Yoga class to open those chakras, realign your protesting spine, and increase flexibility. Barring a nighttime visit from Mr. Arbuckle (which is unlikely given the comedy legend is long dead), Zen Village prepares you for every curveball life might throw. Bring it on, Muffy.

Classes last one hour and run between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. Prices range from $15 to $30. Call 305-567-0165, or visit www.thezenvillage.com.

Tuesdays, 2008
