Last Friday you spent the evening at Club BigBucks, paying $20 for watered-down cocktails, being trampled by Eurotrash tourists, and listening to a celebrity DJ scream over the tracks all night long. Don’t you feel like getting a little therapy? We prescribe a dose of Blue’s anniversary party. Tonight this legendary SoBe club will be celebrating eight years of underground house music in an unpretentious environment.
“We’re the longest-running club in South Beach — older than Crobar, older than Mansion. We’ve outlived everyone around us. They always seem to come and go, and we’re holding our own in that same little spot,” says the club’s general manager, Lisa Grady. We named it Best Place to Get Primed in our 2007 “Best of Miami” issue, and why wouldn’t we? There’s hardly ever a cover charge, the drinks are dirt-cheap, and the spot is always jumpin’. Tonight there’s an open bar from midnight to 2:00 a.m., and the party will rock on way beyond that. Call 305-534-1009, or just show up at Blue, 222 Española Way, Miami Beach.
