Forget going green for the weekend, and tap into your artsy side instead. The 48th annual Rotary Key Biscayne Art Festival is back for another weekend of craft showcasing in Miami’s most desirable escape town. Let Key Biscayne be your alibi for the weekend, and peruse fine arts & crafts from up-and-coming names from the contemporary art scene. Art will take on many mediums over two days, highlighting gems taking on forms as sculptures, paintings, drawings, jewelry, photography and ceramics, just to name a few.

Discover a world of knickknacks and home accents in unique materials from talented creatives in Village Green Park (455 Grand Bay Drive, Key Biscayne). The purposes of glass, fiber, metal, Lucite and wood will stretch your imagination in a word of originality. You can celebrate your faux Irish heritage any other time of year. This weekend should be all about exploring your inner art collector. Browse works from more than 100 artists Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free. Call 561-746-6615 or visit artfestival.com.
Sat., March 17, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sun., March 18, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., 2012

Will you step up to support New Times this year?

At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $18,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
