Keep Miami New Times Free
We’re aiming to raise $7,500 by April 26. Your support ensures New Times can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
“What’s the matter with the car I’m driving? Can’t you tell that it’s out of style?” Billy Joel sang. “Should I get a set of whitewall tires? Are you gonna cruise the Miracle Mile?” Yes! You know the song, you know the street, and you know what time it is. This Saturday, grab the wife, kids, Grandma, and whomever else can fit into the car, and head to the weekend-long block party of the century, Carnaval on the Mile.
Beginning at 10 a.m., downtown Coral Gables will be filled with fun as thousands of people dance on the street, Miami style. Catch live music, art, food, parades, rock climbing, miniature street golf, and everything else that comes with an outdoor art festival in the world’s greatest city. Best of all, it’s free. It kicks off the ten-day Carnaval Miami festivities and gets the party started for Calle Ocho next Sunday, March 14.
