With 1 day left in our spring campaign, we have a new $10,000 goal!
New Times members have already contributed more than $8,000 - can you help us hit our new goal and keep New Times free and in print every week? If New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today.
Guys, you might think it is cute to have your favorite childhood books filling the bookcase in your living room, but if Eric Carle, Shel Silverstein, and S.E. Hinton are the only authors you know, you are never going to get anywhere with the ladies. (Well, at least not the sexy librarian type you so desire.) No, they want a man who pushes himself to read Proust and Pushkin, one who cannot wait to crack open Camus or can hardly stand to put down Hardy. Stock up on cheap reads (and smart-guy points) at the Friends of the Library sixth annual Book Sale. The sale runs from November 30 through today. Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday; 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. today, which is half-price day. Want to become a Friend of the library? You can join for as little as $15, and you’ll receive a $15 certificate you can use toward your book sale purchase.
