So you’ve had 11 days to execute your new year’s resolution of eating less. Considering you didn’t last for 11 hours in 2007, we salute you. But honestly, we think that goal was slightly ill considered. It shouldn’t have been “eat less”; it should’ve been “eat better.” And the great gods of New Times are granting you resolution amnesty even if only for today and tomorrow. You wouldn’t want to miss your chance to throw down at the annual Great Taste of the Grove, would you?

Local restaurants like Monty’s, Al Fresco, and Mr. Moe’s will be offering up taste samplings of some of their most scrumptious dishes while live musicians serenade you. The à la carte plates range from a dollar to eight buckaroos and from delicious to amazing. If you’ve never met a meal you didn’t want to inhale, head for Peacock Park today and tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Sat., Jan. 12, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sun., Jan. 13, 11 a.m.-7 p.m., 2008
