The season has only just begun, but this year’s Miami Marlins team is so much more watchable and enjoyable than last year’s mess that it just might temper your hatred for Marlins management. (At least until David Sampson finds a way to get rid of team favorites Jose Fernandez or Giancarlo Stanton.)
Speaking of Fernandez and Stanton, those two will play integral roles to help the team push to the top of the NL East rankings this Tuesday, when the Philadelphia Phillies come to town to kick off a six-game home stand. The NL East rankings are so close right now, with the top team and the bottom team in the division separated by only two games, so wins against the Phillies could help the Marlins snag a surprising postseason appearance.
