When was the last time it snowed in Miami? In what type of natural region does the Everglades sit? Who is Julia Tuttle? Knowing the answers to these questions might not get you far in life, but it’ll at least get you to Lester’s (2519 NW Second Ave., Miami) for Flawed but Fabulous South Florida Trivia Night this Thursday.
Lester’s has teamed up with WLRN for a trivia night that’s all about South Florida’s quirks and charms. Expect questions regarding little-known facts about our region’s local history, culture, pop culture, real estate, biology — anything goes. Teams of six or fewer will compete for prizes and the honorable title of “Smartest Locals.” And no, cell phones will not be allowed, so if you think you can get away with summoning Siri, think again.
The game begins at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free but is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Call 305-456-1784 or visit lestersmiami.com.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $17,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
